The Concordia University Chicago men's volleyball team (1-2) hopes to earn back-to-back victories and get to .500 as they travel to the Bronzeville neighborhood of Chicago to face the Illinois Institute of Technology Scarlet Hawks (0-3) on Tuesday evening.
While the Cougars are coming off a three-set sweep of the Rockford University Regents last Thursday, the Scarlet Hawks are yet to win a set this season as they were swept by Benedictine University, Dominican University and Aurora University.
Sophomore outside hitter
Luke Vozenilek (Westmont, Ill.) led the Cougars in kills with 15 on 38 total attacks, also adding an ace, six digs, and two blocks. Junior middle blocker
Erickberto Perez (Melrose Park, Ill.) also contributed multiple blocks while junior setter
Virgilio Rodriguez (Cicero, Ill.) notched 24 assists along with three kills.
Tuesday is the fourth all-time meeting between the Cougars and Scarlet Hawks, with Concordia winning almost a year ago to the day in a three-set sweep at home. In the victory, Vozenilek had 19 kills and Rodriguez had 10 to lead the Cougars. They'll be looking to replicate their strong performances from recent games, both against Illinois Tech tomorrow and throughout the rest of the season.
