Following two tough losses, the Concordia University Chicago women's soccer team (0-2) looks to pick up some critical wins this week against Benedictine University (0-2) and Milwaukee School of Engineering (0-0).
Â
The Cougars kick off their stretch of home games this week with a 3 p.m. kickoff tomorrow afternoon against the Eagles. Then, tackling MSOE at 12 p.m. on Saturday to close off the week of competition.Â
Â
Concordia battled against Aurora University on Sunday, ultimately falling short in 90 minutes. The last two games for the Cougars have been tough battles as they continue to find their strengths for the season. Leading goal scorer
Cecilia Kochanek (Streamwood, Ill.) continues to be a presence in the midfield while junior
Karissa Walters (Zeeland, Mich.) works alongside, adding a shot on the season. Â
Â
Benedictine and MSOE, both conference qualifying teams last season, have yet to win in the 2021 season, leaving all teams eager for a first win. Benedictine looks to extend their two goals on the season, utilizing goal scorers senior Holly Ward and sophomore Taylor Healy. These two provided significant minutes for the Eagles in their first two games.Â
Â
MSOE returns four seniors along with a number of juniors who look to make an impact on their opening match against Marian University on March 17.
