Women's soccer looks to rebound from loss

The Concordia University Chicago women's soccer team will play Aurora University.

After falling short in their season opener against Dominican University, the Concordia University Chicago Cougars look to grab their first win as they enter conference play on Sunday at Aurora University.  In their previous matchup with Aurora last season, the Cougars ended the match in a draw after an overtime matchup left the score tied 1-1.

The rivalry between these two teams continues to grow each year, as CUC notes only one win in the last 22 games against the Spartans.  Looking to increase their win tally, the Cougars will continue their offensive push, looking to take more shots than their previous match.  In CUC's win against AU in 2018, the Cougars outshot the Spartans 8-4, allowing for their offense to speak for itself.

As the only goal scorer of the season, senior Cecilia Kochanek (Streamwood, Ill.) looks to continue to be an influential piece of the Cougar's offense.  Fellow midfielder Esmeralda Torres (Eureka, Calif.) finds her success in providing a spark on the field for the Cougars after grabbing herself an assist in Wednesday's matchup.  These two key players will continue to provide beneficial minutes for the Cougars.

Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. at Aurora University.
