Concordia University Chicago men's volleyball (2-4) wraps up their quick two-game road trip on Friday as they travel to Marian University (6-0) to take on the Sabres.
The Cougars enter the game looking for some consistency. After starting 0-2, the team rebounded with two straight wins before falling in their previous two matches.
Sophomore Luke Vozenilek (Westmont, Ill.) has been superb so far this season for the Cougars, currently ranking third in the country in attacks per set with 11.12. The aggressive play from Vozenelik earned him 4.18 kills per set.
Marian had an impressive start to their 2021 season with six wins in six tries. They lost just one set, which came in a 3-1 victory over ranked MSOE. A player to watch for the Sabres is freshman Derek Wills, who averages over three kills per set.
This match provides the Cougars another opportunity to compete at a high-level against a quality opponent. They are coming off back-to-back losses to Dominican, who is a top 10 team in the country.
The Cougars are 1-2 all-time against the Sabres, winning the lone match of the 2020 season in four sets.
