March 29, 2019 – The inaugural season for Concordia-Chicago men's volleyball is headed down the stretch. After opening the season with 15 matches away from home, the Cougars will play their final three road matches of the year on Friday and Saturday before closing out the year with two home matches next weekend.
The Cougars will open the weekend playing the one conference team they have not seen yet this season, the Dominican University Stars. The Cougars' local rival will be a tough customer, as the Stars are currently ranked 14
th in Division III and coming off a five-set win over fifth-ranked Benedictine University on Wednesday night. Friday night's match, which has been moved up to a 5 p.m. start, will also be part of the River Forest Rivalry Cup sponsored by Northwestern Mutual.
On Saturday, the Cougars will travel to Aurora University for their final tri-match of the season. At noon, the Cougars will rematch with the host Spartans. The two sides first met on March 13, with Aurora prevailing in three sets. CUC will follow the Aurora match with a non-conference battle against Augustana College. The Vikings come in at 10-13 on the year after a five-set win over Loras College on Thursday night.
