RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- Coming off a three-game home slate last week, the Concordia-Chicago women's soccer team will hit the road to Milwaukee, Wis. tomorrow and take on the Inferno of Alverno College at 4 p.m.
Last Time Out: The Cougars went 1-2 last week, capturing their first win of the year, and first conference win, against the Lakeland Muskies. CUC defeated its NACC foe in a 2-0 shut out, with goals from
Meghan Vasseur and
Sydney Fuller. The Cougars were also blanked by non-conference opponent Central Iowa and fellow conference team Benedictine, 3-0 and 2-0, respectively.
Scouting Alverno: The Inferno will meet CUC after losing three straight, including a 14-0 loss to Dominican and 6-0 defeat to Wisconsin Lutheran last week. Alverno's rookie Shaye Wolfe leads the squad with 14 points coming off six goals and two assists. The freshman has six of the team's 13 goals.
All-Time vs. the Inferno: Concordia-Chicago historically dominates Alverno College, holding the all-time series record at a staggering 12-1-1 advantage. With the series dating back to 2002, the Cougars have defeated the Inferno for seven consecutive years.
Full House: Senior midfielder
Sydney Fuller currently leads the team in scoring with three points, off one goal and one assist. Five other Cougars have scored one goal this season.
At a Glance: After taking on Alverno tomorrow, CUC will return to action on Saturday morning, Sept. 29 against Head Coach
Shayni Paul's alma mater, Marian University. Game time is slated for an 11 a.m. start time.
