March 4, 2017 - The Concordia-Chicago men's tennis team returned to the courts at the Oak Park Tennis & Fitness Centre today to take on a pair of visitors. The two matches completed a busy early-season stretch after CUC had opened the season two days ago. Unfortunately, the Cougars fared no better against the Foresters of Lake Forest College or the Panthers of Principia College, losing to both opponents by a 9-0 score.
The young Cougars continued to adjust to the collegiate game in addition to learning how to play with their doubles partners. The only points in the matches came with the first doubles team of
Alex Vieaux and
Josh Krzyzanowski losing 8-1 to the Principia tandem of Greg Sovie and Brody Swan, and the second doubles team of
Allen Price and
Ben Fluga falling 8-1
to the Lake Forest team of Dragan Trivanovic and Nick Rehm.
"We still have work to do, but we'll have a few weeks before we get back to match play, and we'll use this time to assess what we've done in the first three matches and how to improve on that," said CUC head coach
Howard Carley. The Cougars will play next on March 17 when they travel to Loras College in Dubuque, IA.
