Raiders Outplay Cougars

GLENDALE, WIS.- The Concordia University Chicago (CUC) men's tennis team visited Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) to play their last conference match of the season. Despite their strong effort and determination, the Cougars lost 7-0 against the Raiders.
 
DOUBLES
  • The Raiders swept all three matches against the Cougars.
  • In the No.1 match, Andres Villagran (El Paso, Texas) and Sam Smith (Munster, Ind.) were outplayed 6-1.
  • Kyle Pelzek (Hales Corners, Wis.) and Kevin Bullens (River Forest, Ill.) were defeated 6-2 in the No.2 match.
  • Competing in the No.3 match, Diego Loveshe (Franklin Park, Ill.) and August Barnes (Sodus, Mich.) were shut out 6-0 against the Raiders.
 
SINGLES
  • The Raiders controlled the game play by winning all six singles matches.
  • Joshua Gustafson (Merrill, Wis.) and Smith both earned one point on the board but lost both sets, 6-0, 6-1.
  • Reynaldo Leal (Weslaco, Texas) and Barnes were both shut out in straight sets, 6-0.
  • Villagran dropped the No.3 single match, 6-1, 6-1.
  • Despite Bullens adding a couple points in the second set, he ultimately fell short with scores of 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4 singles.
