April 11, 2016 -Â Fresh off an opening 1-1 weekend, the Concordia-Chicago men's tennis team took to the home courts on a bright, sunny afternoon today. They welcomed the Eagles from Judson University in a non-conference match. Their NAIA opponents entered play with 19 matches under their collective belt, and their edge in experience carried them to an 8-1 win over the Cougars.
Ariel Manjarrez (Berwyn, IL/Morton West)Â notched a well-earned point for CUC as he took a 6-1, 6-1 win at first singles over Landis McIlroy. Â The junior improved to 2-1 on the season in singles play. He and his first doubles partnerÂ
Alex Vieaux (Park Forest, IL/Illinois Lutheran) did not fare as well as they lost  8-1 to Elisha Hougland and Daniel Hendel.Â
The Cougars will return to conference play this Saturday when they travel to Wisconsin again, this time for matches at Edgewood College and Marian University.
