Box Score Oct. 24, 2014 – The Concordia Cougars' women's soccer team  traveled to Concordia Wisconsin on Saturday. The weather was beautiful in Mequon, WI, but unfortunately the game was not from the Cougars' perspective. The Falcons scored three times in the second half and broke open a close contest, winning by a final score of 4-0.
.
"It is disappointing to allow soft goals in the run of play," said CUC head coach
Thomas Goines. "The girls played with effort for much of the game, but you can't have mental lapses against the top teams in the conference."
The Cougars played well for the first 35 minutes as they kept nine players between the ball and the goal and countered up the right side through
Alisha Johnson (Coal City, IL/Coal City). CUC was able to keep possession and move the ball at times in the first half.
Stephanie Brown (Streamwood, IL/H.S.) and
Christina Kiotis (Park Ridge, IL/Maine South) played well and their effort was key in the defensive effort. Unfortunately, the falcons managed to score an opening goal in the 38
th minute to go up 1-0.
In the second half Concordia Wisconsin was given the ball and open opportunities at the top of the box and they took advantage to score three more goals as the Cougars' energy waned. On the day, CUW outshot CUC 21-2 and had an advantage in corners of 10-2.Â
The Cougars host Dominican University in their final regular season game as CUC looks to play spoiler on Tuesday, October 28 at 3:00.
