April 20, 2013 - The Concordia Cougars went 0-2 in Saturday's Northern Athletics Conference action on the road. Concordia fell 7-2 to the Milwaukee School of Engineering and 9-0 to Wisconsin Lutheran College.
In the morning match against MSOE, the Cougars snared a point at first doubles.
Tim Staffeld (Hobart, IN/H.S.) and
Clinton Bienz (Fort Wayne,IN/Concordia Lutheran) teamed up for an exciting 8-6 win over Eric Klamrowski and Reekah Delfanian. However, the Raiders held a 2-1 lead after doubles with 8-2 and 8-0 wins at second and third doubles respectively.
Concordia won at third singles with
Chayanne Martinez (Carpentersville, IL/Dundee-Crown) defeating Matthew Slaughter 6-4 and 6-4.
In the afternoon match, the Wisconsin Lutheran Warriors swept doubles by an 8-3 score at first and 8-4 scores at second and third. The two closest matches in singles play came at second and sixth with Staffeld and
Niko Verceletto (Babylon, NY/West Babylon) dropping one of their sets by a 7-6 score.
The Cougars (3-5, 2-5 NAC) will host Lakeland Colege and Concordia University Wisconsin this Saturday, April 27.
