Sept. 25, 2010 - The Concordia-Chicago women's soccer team fell to 0-7 overall, 0-4 in Northern Athletics Conference play with a 15-0 drubbing at the hands of Edgewood College this afternoon in Madison, Wisconsin.
The Eagles' Elaine Gerry opened the scoring at the 8:44 mark with the first of her two goals on the day. However, the greatest amount of damage was done by Kristina Santaga with four goals on six shots. Santaga scored twice as the Eagles built a 7-0 lead at the half and added her final two markers in the first 13 minutes of the second half.
Cougar keeper Sarah Ann Evers (Napoleon, OH/H.S.), making only her second appearance in goal, faced 48 Edgewood shots and recorded 11 saves. The Cougars had four shots for the game with Alyssa Soulis (Grayslake, IL/Grayslake North) credited with two.
The Cougars return to action on Wednesday with a non-conference match at UW/Parkside in Kenosha.
