Jeff Smith (Moline, Ill.) of the men’s tennis team is honored for the week of May 2-8.

Smith won three of his four singles matches at the Northern Athletics Conference Individual Championships May 7-8 in Kohler, Wis. He defeated Andrew Bales of Marian University (6-2, 6-0), Eric Klamrowski of Milwaukee Engineering (6-4, 2-6, 10-8) and Gregory Tabaka of Dominican University (3-6, 6-4, 11-9) to advance to the semifinals. He was finally eliminated by Keven Amarantos of Dominican University (6-2, 7-6) but finished the season with an 11-6 record in singles play.

Smith, the son of Michael and Shirley Smith, is a 2005 home-school graduate. He is a senior in Concordia’s pre-seminary program with a history major.
