Joe Silva (Arlington Heights, IL) of the baseball team is honored for the week of April 11-17.
Silva batted .450 in leading the Cougars to a 9-1 week. He knocked out 18 hits in 40 at-bats including four doubles, a triple and his first homer of 2016 in game one of the Cougars’ doubleheader versus Aurora University on April 11. Silva scored 13 runs and drove in 10, and recorded 7-9 in stolen bases. He had five walks and was hit by a pitch three times, leading to an on-base percentage of .531.
Silva, the son of Stephen and Alison Silva, is a 2014 graduate of Hersey High School in Arlington Heights, IL. He is a sophomore physical education major.
