Emily Ramey (Glendale, Ariz.) of the women’s track team is honored for the week of May 3-9.

Ramey earned the Female Freshman Athlete of the Meet award at the Northern Athletics Conference Outdoor Championships May 8-9 in Milwaukee. She scored 26.5 of the Cougar women’s 133 points in helping the team to a third-place finish. Ramey scored in three individual events – the 100 and 200-meter dashes and the long jump. She also helped the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400-meter relay teams to first and second place finishes respectively.

Ramey, the daughter of Robert and Jana Ramey, is a 2009 graduate of Ironwood High School. She is a freshman secondary education major with an emphasis in history.
