Sarah Smith (St. Ignace, MI) of the women’s basketball team is honored for the week of Jan. 4-10.

Smith’s defense and rebounding were important factors in the Cougar women’s two wins last week. In games against Rockford University (Jan. 6) and Marian University (Jan. 9), she averaged 6.5 points and 7.5 rebounds while helping CUC to win the boards and control the lane. Smith also shot 60 percent (6-10) from the field

Smith, the daughter of Tammy Smith, is a 2015 graduate of Lasalle High School in St. Ignace, MI. She is a freshman in Concordia-Chicago’s pre-med program.
