Amelia Wellman (New Haven, IN) of the women’s tennis team is honored for the week of Sept. 28-Oct. 4.
Wellman has won her last two singles matches, most recently a 6-4, 3-6, 10-8 win at fifth flight against Bailey Eschmann of Edgewood College on Oct. 3. The freshman was a late addition to the team this year and did not letter in tennis during high school, but she has developed her game significantly over the last three weeks, according to CUC head coach Patrice Duffy.
Wellman, the daughter of Gary and Nancy Wellman, is a 2015 graduate of Concordia Lutheran High School in Fort Wayne, IN. She is a freshman elementary education major.
