Doug Matthews (Crest Hill, IL) of the baseball team is honored for the week of March 30-April 5.
Matthews hit .529 (9-17) in the Cougars’ four games against Webster University and Rockford University last week. The third baseman had two runs scored and four RBIs including a double, which drove in the winning run in the 10th inning against Webster on March 30. Matthews had three doubles among his nine hits, accounting for a slugging percentage of .706.
Matthews, the son of John and Jackie Matthews, is a 2013 graduate of Lockport Township High School in Lockport, IL. He is a sophomore emergency medical services major.
