Emilia Vowell (Peotone, IL) of the softball team is honored for the week of April 21-27.

Vowell led the softball team in their final eight games of the regular season with a .421 batting average. She knocked out her second homer of the season in an April 26 game against Aurora University. Vowell finished her first season with the Cougars third in batting average with a .283 and solidifying the team’s defense at second base.

Vowell, the daughter of George and Debra Vowell, is a 2011 graduate of Peotone High School in Peotone, IL. She is a junior criminal justice major.
