Kayla Konow (Fort Wayne, IN) of the women’s track and field team is honored for the week of March 31-April 6.

Konow won the 1,500-meter run at the University of Chicago’s Ted Haydon Invitational on April 5. She beat out the field which included some NCAA Division I runners with a time of 4:55.06. Konow also placed second in the 800 meters with a 2:23.79 and set a new school record which had been in place since 1981. Her performances helped lead the Cougar women to a third-place finish in the meet.

Konow, the daughter of Matt and Amy Konow, is a 2011 graduate of Concordia Lutheran High School in Fort Wayne, IN. She is a junior elementary education major.
