Christine Saucedo (Brookfield, IL) of the women’s soccer team is honored for the week of Oct. 21-27.
Saucedo, in her first year with the women’s soccer program, led the Cougars to their seventh and eighth shutouts of the season as the team clinched a conference tournament berth. With one regular-season game to go, her play at the central defense position has helped the team reduce its goals-against average from 1.61 per game to 0.76 this year. Saucedo also assisted on the first (game-winning) goal in the Oct. 23 win at Rockford University.
Saucedo, the daughter of Mario and Maria Saucedo, is a 2012 graduate of Lyons Township High School in LaGrange, Illinois. She is a sophomore pre-nursing major.
