Emma Renteria (Maywood, IL) of the women’s tennis team is honored for the week of Sept. 30-Oct. 6.
Renteria moved up to second singles in CUC’s Oct. 4 match at Marian University and recorded a 6-7, 6-1, 6-4 win over Brynn Hartzell. She also teamed with Elizabeth Steinhoff for an 8-5 win over Melissa Spannbauer and Rachel Stoffell at second doubles. Both victories were crucial to the Cougars as they edged the Sabres by a 5-4 score.
Renteria, the daughter of Roberto and Heidi Renteria, is a 2012 graduate of Walther Lutheran High School in Melrose Park, Illinois. She is a sophomore with an undeclared major.
