Ryan Thorsen (Lake Villa, IL) of the baseball team is honored for the week of May 6-12.

Thorsen pitched a five-hit shutout against Wisconsin Lutheran College in the championship game of the Northern Athletics Conference tournament on May 11. He threw 103 pitches in his complete-game effort after being bothered by nagging elbow problems throughout the season; his longest outing this season had been seven innings against Bethany Lutheran University on March 10. With the 9-0 win, Thorsen improved to 3-0 on the year with a 2.30 earned run average in 43 innings. 

Thorsen, the son of Pat and Connie Thorsen, is a 2009 graduate of Grant Community High School in Fox Lake, Illinois. He is a junior sports management major.
