Concordia University Chicago Athletics

Jamal Thomas (Weirsdale, FL) of the men’s indoor track team is honored for the week of Feb. 18-24.
           
Thomas won the conference championship in the long jump with a leap of 46’ 10”. His mark is a new Concordia indoor record, bettering the previous mark of 45’ 7 ¾”set by Chad Peace in 2004. Thomas also scored for the Cougar men with a fifth-place finish in the long jump (21’ 10 ¾”).
           
Thomas, the son of Ante and Joyce Thomas, is a 2008 graduate of Lake Weir High School in Ocala, Fla. He is a senior marketing major.
