Jessica Genke (Kiel, WI) of the women’s basketball team is honored for the week of Jan. 14-20.

Genke followed up a 31-point effort Jan. 12 with a 33-point performance in Concordia’s 71-56 win over Rockford College Jan. 16, the Cougars’ fourth consecutive win. The 5’11” forward shot 12-20 from the field and 9-12 from the line in achieving her new career high. Genke also pulled down 12 rebounds and added three assists and five of the Cougars’ 11 blocked shots. She currently leads the Northern Athletics Conference with 281 points and a 16.5 scoring average.

Genke, the daughter of Doug and Kim Genke, is a 2009 graduate of Kiel High School in Kiel, Wis. She is a junior elementary education major.
