Savanna Ashbaugh (Waverly, IL) of the women’s indoor track team are honored for the week of Feb. 27-Mar. 4.
Ashbaugh competed in the pentathlon at the Last Chance Meet at North Central College Mar. 1-2. She recorded personal-best efforts in four of the five events with her biggest improvement coming in the 800-meter run. She ran a 2:56.37, shattering her previous best by 10 seconds. Ashbaugh recorded a total of 2,081 points, just 62 shy of Emily Ramey’s record from two years ago.
Ashbaugh, the daughter of Jim and Tracy Ashbaugh, is a 2011 graduate of Waverly High School. She is a freshman exercise science major.
