Merrell Davis (Milwaukee, WI) of the men’s indoor track team is honored for the week of Feb. 20-26.
Davis scored 30 points for the Cougar men at the Northern Athletics Conference Indoor Championships Feb. 25. He won the long jump with an NCAA-qualifying mark of 7.14 meters (23’ 5 ¼”), placed second in the triple jump (13.06 m./42’ 10 ¼”) and 55-meter dash (6.55 seconds), and fifth in the 200-meter dash (23.07 seconds). Davis’ point total was the second highest of any male athlete at the meet.
Davis, the son of Anne Novotny, is a 2008 graduate of Milwaukee Lutheran High School. He is a senior business communications major.
