Ron Katarzynski will begin his first season with the Cougars during the 2022 season. He brings over 30 years of coaching experience at various levels to this role as head coach.
He comes to Concordia Chicago from Aurora University, where he served as the assistant coach for the men's volleyball program for three seasons. During his time with the Spartans, he helped the team to an overall record of 37-24, with the team improving their record each year since he joined the staff. This past season, he coached an American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Region player as well as four All-Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference honorees.
Before coaching at Aurora, Katarzynski was a head coach at Sports Performance Volleyball Club. Over his six years with the organization, he coached his team to an Elite Eight finish at AAU Nationals. He also coached the No. 1 team in the country in 2014 and the No. 25 team in the country in 2013.
He also made stops at other volleyball clubs and high schools throughout the area over his 30 years of coaching, including St Pius, St John's, Side Out VBC, Avalanche VBC, West Chicago High School.
Katarzynski is a graduate of Lewis University and the Chicago Cooking and Hospitality Institute. Currently, he resides in Orland Park, Ill.
