Greg Manos 2023

Greg Manos

Greg Manos was appointed the third head men's volleyball coach in Concordia University Chicago history in November of 2022.

In just four seasons at CUC, Manos has guided the program’s steady rise across the conference and on the national stage. Under his leadership, the Cougars have elevated their national ranking in each of the past three seasons while establishing new program standards for competitive success. Manos became the most winning coach in program history and owns the highest winning percentage of any Men’s Volleyball Coach in school history. The Cougars have earned two NACC Tournament appearances, produced eight NACC All-Conference selections, five CSC Academic All-District honorees and numerous program record holders.

Recognized for his defensive philosophy and player development, Manos has consistently produced nationally ranked defensive teams. Under his leadership, the Cougars finished 3rd nationally in blocks per set in 2023 and followed with three consecutive top-16 national finishes in digs per set, placing 16th in 2024, 2nd in 2025, and 5th in 2026.

Manos also made an impact on the regional and national level through USA Volleyball's High Performance & All-Star pipeline. After serving as an Assistant Coach for the Great Lakes Region Boys U17 Team that captured the 2023 USAV All-Star Championship, he returned in the Summer of 2024 as a Scout for both the U17 and U19 Great Lakes teams, helping both squads earn silver medals. In the summer of 2025, Manos served as an Assistant Coach for the Great Lakes U17 Team, leading the group to a gold medal.

Before arriving at Concordia, Manos spent time at the NCAA Division I level with Miami University as an Assistant Coach, where he specialized in scouting, defensive systems, serve receive and player development. Prior to Miami, he was the Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Radford University, where he revamped the program's scouting system while assisting with recruiting and compliance.

From 2016-20, Manos served as Associate Head Coach at Chicago State University. During his four-year tenure, the program won more Division I matches than the program had accumulated during the previous 11 seasons combined. He helped develop multiple all-conference performers, including a two-time WAC Libero of the Year, guided setters to conference-leading performances, and played a significant role in recruiting, fundraising, strength and conditioning, and the program's social media growth.

Throughout his coaching career, Manos also worked with 1st Alliance VBC, Energy VBC, Hoosierland (Munciana) VBC, and Evanston Township High School.

Manos graduated from Indiana University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Business and was a member of the Hoosiers' 2011 NCVF National Championship team. He earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Concordia University Chicago in 2025 and will begin teaching at the university in the Fall of 2026.
