BOURBONNAIS, ILL.- The Concordia University Chicago (CUC) women's tennis team traveled for a non-conference game against Olivet Nazarene University (ONU). The Cougars gave it their all but ultimately suffered a 7-0 defeat.
SINGLES
- Amelia Engelman (McKinney, Texas) battled through her No.1 singles match, picking up two points in the first set and another in the second, unable to take victory, 6-2, 6-1.
- Hannah Upole (Hinkley, Ohio) and Aura Cortez-Cali (Berwyn, Ill.) each fought to secure a point in their respective matches, but ONU dominated CUC and took all of the singles matches.
- Amirah Shakir (Dekalb, Ill.), Abigail Krueger (Brookfield, Ill.), and Sarah Gustafson (Merril, Wis.) competed hard but were unable to come away with a win in their respective matches.
DOUBLES
- No.1 doubles, Engelman and Shakir fought for a point but were ultimately shut out, respectively 6-0.
- In No.2 doubles, Gustafson and Krueger fought for every point, while No.3 doubles pair Cortez-Cali and Upole also put a point on the board before both pairs fell, 6-1.
