COUNTRYSIDE, ILL.- The Concordia University Chicago (CUC) men's tennis team returned from their spring break trip to compete in another Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) match against Edgewood University. With our best attempts to claim victory, the Cougars fell 5-2.
DOUBLES
- Even after giving it their all, the No.1 doubles players Andres Villagran (El Paso, Texas) and Sam Smith (Munster, Ind.) fell 6-2.
- Collin Dickey (Frisco, Texas) and August Barnes (Sodus, Mich.) put together a solid effort in the No.2 doubles match, earning a 6-3 victory over the Eagles.
- In the No.3 doubles match, Kevin Bullens (River Forest, Ill.) and Kyle Pelzek (Hales Corners, Wis.) battled their way to a 6-2 win.
SINGLES
- The Eagles went on to take all the singles matches except Barnes' singles.
- In a tight No.1 matchup, Dickey battled to a third set before falling short with a final score of 10-7.
- Villagran gave it his all but dropped both sets, 6-1 in the No.2 singles.
- In the No.3 singles, Smith put up a fight especially in the last set leading to a tie break but ultimately fell by two points.
- Despite his best efforts in the No.4 singles, Reynaldo Leal (Weslaco, Texas) fell in both sets, 6-1, 6-0.
- In a tough match, Bullens was unable to take the set, falling 6-3 in the second set in the No.5 singles.
- With a strong showing in the No.6 single, Barnes claimed both sets 6-2.
