WAUWATOSA, WIS.- Earning their first Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) victory, the Concordia University Chicago (CUC) Cougars traveled to face Wisconsin Lutheran (WLC) Warriors. Showcasing competitiveness and determination throughout the match, the Cougars secured an impressive 6-1 victory over the Warriors.
DOUBLES
- The Cougars dominated the doubles competition, sweeping all matches.
- In No.2 doubles, Brianna Bentz (Whitehall, Mich.) and Hannah Upole (Hinkley, Ohio.) set the tone, shutting out their opponents 6-0 to secure the victory.
- In both matches, Amelia Engelman (McKinney, Texas) and Amirah Shakir (Dekalb, Ill.) continued the Cougars momentum, earning a 6-3 victory in the respective match. Abigail Krueger (Brookfield, Ill.) and Sarah Gustafson (Merrill, Wis.) created strong consistent play by outscoring their opponents 6-3 for the win.
SINGLES
- In the No.1 singles. Engleman swept the first round 6-0 before closing out the match with a competitive 7-5 second set.
- Bentz battled through a challenging three set match, securing a score of 6-1, 6-4, 6-0 victory.
- Shakir finished with a solid 7-5, 6-2 win, while Krueger turned in a dominant performance, earning a straight set 6-0, 6-0 victory.
- Gustafson added another singles win, battling to a 7-5, 6-3 result.
- In No.4 singles, Upole competed hard throughout the match but ultimately fell 6-1, 6-4.
