RIVER FOREST, ILL. – The Concordia University Chicago women's tennis team continued their fall season with a tough non-conference home matchup against Illinois Wesleyan University. The Cougars fell 7-0 in the contest, facing a dominant Titans squad that controlled play from start to finish.
DOUBLES

The Cougars struggled to gain momentum in doubles play, as Illinois Wesleyan swept all three matchups.

The pairing of Hannah Upole (Hinkley, Ohio) and Sarah Gustafson (Merrill, Wis.) were able to notch a game win at the number three spot but ultimately fell 6-1.

Number one duo Amirah Shakir (Dekalb, Ill.) and Amelia Engelman (McKinney, Texas), as well as number two pair Kathleen Castillo (Elmwood Park, Ill.) and Arriyanna Amison (Dolton, Ill.), were both shut out in their matches.
SINGLES

The Titans continued their strong showing in singles play, sweeping all six matches in straight sets.
- Courtneye Schneider (Plainfield, Ill.) picked up a game win in the first set of her number six singles match before falling 6-1, 6-0.
- Shakir earned two games in a competitive first set at number two singles but was unable to carry that momentum into the second, falling 6-2, 6-0.

Engelman, Castillo, Upole, and Amison were all blanked in their respective matches, despite battling through extended rallies and multiple deuce games.
