Set One

The Calvin squad team took the lead first with being first on the board but followed by a bad set, the Cougars were quick to tie up the game with a point on the board. Both teams would go on a run exchanging point for point consisting a kill Day, but after Calvin took lead and scored four-consecutive points, the Cougars were able to step it up and score three points afterwards. The Cougars called their first timeout of the set where the score was 11-15, with Calvin leading the set. With taking the timeout, hoping to take advantage and tie up the game, Calvin was able to gain back to back points and gain a 11-17 lead. The Cougars were able to add a couple points on the board but were forced to take a timeout by Calvin leading by 6 points, 14-20.  The Cougars were able to pick up two kills by Quevedo and Cooper, but the Calvin lead would be too far to comeback as they finished off the set with three kills and service an ace. This allows Calvin to take set one 25-16. After one set of play, Calvin leads 1-0.

Set Two

With two straight service aces by Hunt, the Cougars were on the board, 2-0. With the score on Calvin's side, Day tried to continue putting points on the board with kills, the lead being too far the Cougars fell short in set 2, 25-11. Calvin increased their lead 2-0.

With Calvin leading, the Cougars followed with three back to back points, a kill by both Hunt and Day with a solid block from Harmoniee Cooper (Chicago, III.)  and Day, forcing an attack error, bumping the score 9-14. Calvin would find they would be able to continue scoring points and take the lead 21-15. With keeping the Cougars at a large deficit to comeback from, the Cougars took set 3 25-17.
