RIVER FOREST, ILL. -- The Concordia University Chicago dance team is gearing up for the 2025-26 school year after a successful previous year highlighted by a CIT Championship and a first-time finals appearance at the National Dance Association (NDA) National Championship.
In preparation for the upcoming competition season, the team attended the NDA college camp at DePaul University where they successfully earned their bid to NDA Nationals. The squad performed their first routine together for the year and did so with a focus on good power and precision. A blend of veterans and rookies took the floor with Division I talent watching and successfully demonstrated their ability to learn quickly. Of the 12 Cougars that took the floor, three newcomers put on a maroon and gold uniform for the first time in
Kaitlyn Witnik (Franklin Park, Ill.),
Jeniah Goodlow (Hammond, Ind.), and
Alexa Ciccia (Wood Dale, Ill.). These three paired with the experience from nine returners helped the team to earn second in team evaluations and secure their bid.
"Our team handled the pressure well and met the demands I placed on them," Head Coach
Dirvelys Allen noted. "I am ready for 25-26 to reach new heights."
The Cougars look to build off last season's momentum when they return to the floor this fall. The team will make their first sideline appearance on Saturday, September 6th for the football home opener at 11:00am.
