Cougar Dance Shines At Nationals With Fourth Place Finish

DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. - Taking the stage as finalists for the first time in program history, the Concordia University Chicago (CUC) dance team competed in Poms at the 2025 National Dance Association (NDA) College Dance Nationals. With the exceptional hard work from the team and coaching staff, the Cougars finished their competitive season ranked fourth in the nation in Poms.

Making their first appearance on the finals stage, the team took the floor and once again competed with no deductions. They earned another perfect ten in collegiate image while scoring high in performance impression, uniformity, choreography, and staging. The team took the floor with excitement and was noticed by the judges with remarks of excellent percussive visuals and musicality.

"It's been SUCH an outstanding year," Head Coach Dirvelys Allen noted. "I am extremely proud of this team. They were so special, hard working, so much grit, and had gone above and beyond everything! We set out to make national finalist and win the division and we have. The biggest win today was finishing the competition with an incredible team culture, a fantastic finals performance, and competing with the top teams in the nation. CUC is beyond blessed to have these young women represent us!"

This concludes the 2024-25 season for CUC Dance after an incredible run of accomplishments. After securing their first ever Concordia Invitational Tournament (CIT) victory back in January, they round out their year with their first ever NDA Nationals Finalist accolade.
