DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. – Making their return to the national stage, the Concordia University Chicago cheer team took the Bandshell in Florida for the National Cheerleading Association (NCA) College Cheer Nationals Advanced All-Girl Division III preliminary round.
NCA Nationals is the largest competitive cheerleading competition in the United States with two different division that teams can compete in: intermediate or advanced. CUC competed and advanced to the finals in the advanced division for the second consecutive year.
The Cougars scored well on day one with only two deductions, totaling one point. Despite the small deductions, they still finished in fourth place to advance to the finals. The Cougars picked up strong remarks in their visual appeal and energy. They scored a perfect ten in their collegiate image criteria, while scoring just shy of ten for their choreography.
