Cougars Advance to National Championship Finals

DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. -- The CUC Cheer team took on the warm weather and the fierce competition at the National Cheerleading Association (NDA) Collegiate Cheer Nationals, advancing to the finals for the first time in program history.

"As a first year NCA Collegiate Nationals team, I could not be more proud of our team," Head Coach Cheetah Farrar exclaimed. "We hit our routine with 0 deductions overall."

The Cougar squad still awaits final scoring following the conclusion of their finals performance, but currently place 4th as they head to the final competition slated for tomorrow, Saturday April 13th.

"The team took on the bandshell stage with such confidence and big energy. It was amazing to see our cheerleaders shine at the biggest college cheer nationals in the US! We are ready to take on Day 2 and put CUC on the map for college competitive cheer." Farrar said.

Facing a quick turnaround, the Cougars compete in less than 24 hours as they look to come back to River Forest with some hardware. Coverage and updates can be found at cucougars.com.
