PARK FOREST, Ill. – The Concordia University Chicago (CUC) men's tennis team went on the road this afternoon to face the Prairie State College Pioneers. The Cougars fought hard but ultimately fell 7-0. CUC is now 0-7.
 
Doubles:

• In the No. 1 doubles match, Collin Dickey (Frisco, Texas) and Reynaldo Leal (Weslaco, Texas) put up a fight, but fell 8-3.
• Sam Smith (Munster, Ind.) and Nathan Stringer (Milwaukee, Wis.) lost 8-2 at No. 2 doubles.
• In the third doubles match, Kyle Pelzek (Hales Corner, Wis.) and August Barnes (Sodus, Mich.) were defeated 8-1, leaving the Cougars scoreless heading into singles.

 
Singles

• The Pioneers dominated in the singles matches, limiting the Cougars' ability to win sets.
• Dickey and Joshua Gustafson (Merrill, Wis.) each fell in two 6-1 sets at first and sixth singles.
• Prairie State swept the Cougars, winning all six matches, as no Cougar was able to win more than one game in a set.

 
The Cougars are back in action on Saturday March 29. CUC opens Northern Athletic Collegiate Conference (NACC) play against Edgewood College up in Madison, Wis. The match will start at 10:00 am. Coverage can be found at cucougars.com/coverage.
