RIVER FOREST, ILL. - On the second consecutive day inside Geiseman Gymnasium, the CUC STUNT team took the floor for two games, this time completing the sweep and tallying two more wins.

GAME ONE VS BUENA VISTA: 10-2 W

In game one of a double-header for the Cougars, they faced off against Buena Vista for the second time in as many days. Less than 24 hours prior, the Cougars faced off with the Beavers, where they walked away with their first win of the season in a 10-0 shutout. The Cougars came out for their second matchup with the Beavers with the same intensity and got to work right away. After winning the coin toss, the Cougars took possession and chose routine two, outworking the Beavers to secure the first point of the game. The Beavers countered with routine one where both teams would secure the point and close the quarter with the Cougars on top 2-1.Â

Mirroring the selections of quarter one, the Cougars selected routine two and secured the point while the Beavers would then select routine one where only the Cougars would secure the point and jump out to a 4-1 lead heading into halftime.Â

Fresh into the new half, the Beavers would start with possession and select routine seven where both teams would forfeit and give the Cougars possession back. CUC would then choose routine three, where BV would forfeit and allow CUC to compete for the point uncontested. Successfully able to perform the routine with minimal deductions, the Cougars would secure their fifth point of the game and close the third quarter with a 5-1 lead.

In the final quarter of the game, the Beavers started with possession and selected routine one, where the Cougars would earn all three points and greaten their lead to seven. In the final routine of the game, the Cougars selected routine two, where they would earn points in both partner stunts and jumps & tumbling while the Beavers would steal the point in pyramids & tosses to leave the final score at 10-2 in favor of the Cougars.Â

GAME TWO VS THE UNIVERSITY OF OLIVET: 7-0 W

Fresh off the 10-2 victory over Buena Vista, the Cougars took back to the mats to face off against the University of Olivet. The Comets won the coin toss and took possession to start the game where they selected routine one. The Cougars, who had scored two points off of routine one in game one, reigned successful in picking up the first points of the day and took an early 1-0 lead. With possession, CUC selected routine two where UO would forfeit and leave the Cougars battling against themselves for the point. Successfully able to secure the point, the Cougars took the 2-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.Â

To start the second quarter, the Comets selected routine four where a double-forfeit would give the Cougars possession to select routine two. The Comets once again forfeit, but the Cougars took the mat with confidence and secured the point and the 3-0 lead going into halftime.Â

To start the third quarter, the Cougars had possession where they selected routine two and once again secured the point. In the last routine of the third quarter, the Comets selected routine four and forfeited, but the Cougars competed the routine for the first time of the season. Despite strong efforts from the Cougars, they received more than the allotted amount of deductions and did not earn a point, closing out the quarter with the 4-0 lead.Â

Heading into the final quarter, the Cougars had possession and selected routine one where they secured points in all three categories and jumped out to a seven point lead. For the final selection of the day, the Comets chose routine four and forfeited, but the Cougars took to the floor to attempt yet another routine for the first time of the season, but would be unsuccessful in securing any points, taking the 7-0 win regardless.
