Plymouth, Wis. – The Concordia University Chicago (CUC) women's tennis team traveled to Lakeland University where they had their first Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) matchup of the 2024 season. The Cougars battled the Muskies in a 4-2 win for first win of the season.
Doubles Competition
Dynamic duo Jessica Parker (Lake in the Hills, Ill.) and Tatiana Overton (Bolingbrook, Ill.) received the first point for the Cougars, winning their game 6-4. By default, the duo of Amirah Shakir (Dekalb, Ill.) and Demi Presto-Martin (Brookfield, Ill.) won their match, giving the Cougars their second point of the day.
Singles Competition
Parker dominated her singles match with a score of 6-1 in both rounds. Her strong leadership shined through today, where she won in both her singles and doubles matches. By default, both Kamila Giza (East Dundee, Ill.) and Evian Dubon (Franklin Park, Ill.) won their matches as well.
Looking Ahead
The Cougars will look to be back in River Forest for some action on their home courts. They will compete against Marian University for another round of NACC action Saturday, September 14, with a start time of 10:00 am. Coverage for all our sports can be found at cucougars.com/coverage.
