OLIVET, MICH. —- STUNT continued their competition season at the University of Olivet taking on Concordia University Ann Arbor Cardinals and the University of Olivet Comets. The Cougars went 1-1 on the day, falling to the Cardinals 12-11 and taking down the Comets 8-6.
Game One
The Cardinals took the first point of the quarter, but the Cougars followed this by scoring the second point of the quarter 1-1. The teams would follow this by both receiving points bringing the score 2-2. The Cougars would then take the lead bringing the score 3-2 ending the half.
Starting the third quarter, both teams would earn points for their routines bringing the score 4-3. The Cardinals followed this by securing the next point bringing the score 4-4. The teams would again tie, bringing the score 5-5. The Cardinals would end the quarter by winning the last routine 6-5.
Starting the fourth quarter, the Cougars and Cardinals would split the score of the round both sharing two points 8-7. Again, the Cougars and Cardinals would split the score, each receiving 9-8 forcing the Cardinals to take a timeout. The teams would split the points by two again 11-10. The Cougars would score the final point of the quarter forcing the teams into overtime 11-11
The Cardinals would ultimately win the tiebreaker ending the match 12-11.
Game Two
In their next game against the Comets, the Cougars looked to take an early lead, taking the first two points and ended the quarter 2-0. Starting the second quarter strong, the Cougars brought their lead to 4-0.
Starting the third quarter, the Comets took the first point of the half 4-1. The Cougars and Comets would be equally matched in their second tumbling sequence causing both teams to be awarded points 5-2.
Going into the fourth quarter, the Cougars would gain one point in the first sequence, while the Comets gained two 6-4. In the third tumbling sequence the Cougars and the Comets would evenly split the points both receiving two 8-6. The Cougars would end with a lead of 8-6.
