SET ONE
After falling behind early in set one, a kill from Stella would open the doors for the Cougars. Back-to-back kills from
Leon Gudzovski (Des Plaines, Ill.) and
David Vales (Oak Forest, Ill.) would even things up at three apiece. A block from Beckman and
Marcin Hoffman (Inverness, Ill.) would bring the Cougars within one after falling behind yet again.
Exchanging the lead for a few times for the early half of the set, a late 4-0 run for the Cougars would put them comfortably ahead heading into the final few points.
A closing swing from Beckman would win the set 25-21 and keep momentum with the Cougars.
SET TWO
The Green Knights would once again strike first and jump to a 1-0 lead before a kill from Hoffman would event things up. The two teams would again exchange points and keep things a tight match until a 4-0 run from the Green Knights would put them ahead by two. With the majority of the set a two point match, a 4-0 run from the Green Knights, with the Cougars at match point, would extend the game past 25. A 3-0 run from the Cougars would secure the set two win with kills from Hoffman and Gudzovski and blocks from Mosher and Gudzovski.

A service error from the Green Knights would keep momentum with the Cougars and play a factor in the 5-0 run the Cougars would go on to propel well ahead of the Green Knights.
With the sweep in their range of view, the Cougars would secure the victory off a block from Vales and Beckman to close the set 25-17.
