RIVER FOREST, ILL. – For the second time this season, the Concordia University Chicago women's tennis team hosted a conference opponent as Concordia University Wisconsin made the trek to River Forest. The Cougars hard-fought afternoon ultimately ended in a 9-0 loss to the Falcons.
Doubles
Senior duo
Jessica Parker (Lake in the Hills, Ill.) and
Mackenzie Straulin (Johnsburg, Ill.) would give the Cougars their first points of the doubles set, but it would not be enough as they fell in their match 8-1. They would not be the only pair to win a point in a doubles match. Grad student,
Ali Wingood (Chicago, Ill.), and freshman,
Tatiana Overton (Bolingbrook, Ill.), both earned a point, but also fell 8-1. Wingood would go on to receive a point in her singles match.
Singles
Three more Cougars acquired points in their singles matches as
Amelia Engelman (McKinney, Texas),
Kamila Giza (East Dundee, Ill.), and
Amirah Shakir (Dekalb, Ill.), all won points in their respective sets.
