RIVER FOREST, ILL. — Wrapping up their Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) regular season play, the Concordia University Chicago (CUC) women's lacrosse team faced off with Aurora University. In a heated battle with the Spartans, the Cougars fell in this conference match-up 15-5.

Chloe Schaafsma (Lockport, Ill.) led in caused turnovers with four and Orenstein and Sarah Ludwig (Roselle, Ill.) both picked up four ground balls apiece
The first quarter of play was a Spartans-manned ride as they went up on the Cougars 5-0. However, before it ended, Johnson was able to secure her fifth goal of the season. This was thanks to a Spartans turnover and Orenstein ground ball that allowed Johnson to grab this opportunity.
The Spartans started off quarter two with another goal to take their lead to 6-1. The Cougars would then get the ball on their side and Pietrowski would score an unassisted goal to make it 6-2. Aurora scored two more goals at 8-2; But a groundball pick up and goal from Orenstein would make it 8-3 going into the half.
Aurora continued a consistent trend of goals as they took their lead all the way to 12-3. The Cougars would then respond by drawing a free position attempt and Orenstein connected to make it 12-4.
Orenstein came out hot in the fourth quarter and immediately won the draw control. After that, she made a b-line to the goal and smacked in another one for the Cougars, securing her hat trick for the afternoon 12-5.
The Spartans would not allow another goal in for the remainder of the game. This would leave the final with Aurora defeating CUC with a final score of 15-5.
The Cougars will be wrapping up regular season play as they host University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Saturday at 2 p.m. With the Cougars currently sitting at third in the NACC, there is a possibility that they will clinch into the conference tournament.
