MILWAUKEE, WIS. — As the Concordia University Chicago (CUC) men's volleyball team continues their road challenge, they found themselves at Wisconsin Lutheran College (WLC) for some conference action. Taking complete control of all three sets, the Cougars defeated the Warriors 3-0.

Colby Campbell (Brookfield, Ill.) continues his impressive block numbers this season as he picked up five total blocks. Elijah Mosher (Clayton, Ohio) also added to his overall season assist total with 29 tonight
The battle came out scorching in the first set as both teams had a lot of energy. The Cougars were able to tie up the first set with a block from Vozenilek and Campbell to make it 3-3. The Warriors were able to take back the lead as the battle went back and forth with a score of 8-7. However, the Cougars were able to take the lead after an Andrej Moller (Naperville, Ill.) kill and Christopher Livesay (Medinah, Ill.) ace, making it 11-9.
After this moment, the Cougars went on a five-point rally with back-to-back kills from Campbell, a huge Cougar block, and a Mosher service ace. With the score at 16-11, the Cougars began taking the momentum away. On another five-point rally, Jose Padron (Rockford, Ill.) jumped in to help the Cougar blocks and bring the lead to 21-12. After another block from Moller and Padron, then a Holubek kill, the Cougars took set one with a score of 25-15.
Set two started off scorching hot for the Cougars as they quickly went up 4-0. The Holubek and Vozenilek duo has become deadly in providing a rush of power for the CUC offense. As the second set progressed, Vozenilek went on to provide four kills in a row, making it 8-2. Padron joined in on the success and this trio of power provided almost all of the points as it climbed to 12-5, in favor of the Cougars.
Mosher was able to pick up a kill of his own and the Cougars began prospering off of Warrior mistakes at 17-7. Livesay was able to pick up another ace and Mosher and Campbell brought in another block to make it 20-8. The Warriors were able to chip away a bit at the lead, but they ultimately were defeated by the Cougars 25-15 in set two.
With the wind in their sails, the Cougars went into set three ready to take the match. Back-to-back kills from Vozenilek allowed CUC to take the lead 5-2. Picking up a solo block in set three, Padron was able to stop the Warriors offense and bring the lead to 9-4. Prospering off of Warrior mistakes, Holubek picked up a service ace and the Cougars continued their fire 12-5.
As CUC continued to pull away, they were able to take advantage of WLC errors. Moller and Vozenilek brought in some kills and started to pull away 19-9. As the end of set three came towards an end, the Warriors were able to grab a couple more points. The game came to a close after a kill from Matthew Lams (Brookfield, Ill.) and Tavarus Davis-Williams (Fox Lake, Ill.) to put this one away. The Cougars took set three with a score of 25-15 and took the game 3-0 over the Warriors.
