-How it Happened
First Half
Elmhurst wasted little time getting on the board. Kelli Coughlin kicked one past Sheriff at the 5:10 mark to put her Blue Jays up 1-0. Neither team got another shot on goal until the 20:56 mark thanks to Elmhurst's Ellie Muscarello, but her attempt was saved by Sheriff.
Sheriff would make three more saves by the time the halftime buzzer rang, helping keep the score at 1-0 in favor of the Blue Jays.
Second Half
Sheriff continued to play strong in the second half, making back-to-back saves within the first four minutes. The sophomore made another save at the 57:38 mark.
Both defenses shutdown any offense for the remainder of the game, as only one more shot on goal was recorded, but Sheriff made another save on the Elmhurst try. When the final buzzer sounded, Elmhurst walked away victorious, 1-0.
