Falcons Fly Over Cougars 3-0

RIVER FOREST, ILL. --- It was a battle of the Concordia's as Concordia University Wisconsin (5-7-2, 3-5-2) came to River Forest to take on Concordia University Chicago (0-14,0-10). In this clash of rival teams, they both battled for victory on the pitch. The Falcons were able to soar on top with a final score of 3-0.

Box Score Takeaway:
  • Kyle Schultz (Pingree Grove, Ill.) totaled seven saves with zero goals scored against him in his 45 minutes of action.

How It Played Out:

The Falcons stepped onto the pitch and never looked back. Two quick goals for the Falcons put them on top 2-0. Andrew Lechuga (El Monte, Calif.) had a major defensive stop as he ricocheted a shot headed towards the goal line. The defensive effort was nothing short of passionate.

The second half began with intense efforts by Lechuga on the defensive end. Adding to the intense efforts, Schultz got a deflection on an explosive shot from 10 yards out to stop Concordia Wisconsin from scoring. Adding to Schultz's second-half appearance he made a diving stop on a ball heading towards the net, adding to his save total. Efforts from the Cougar defense and Schultz deterred the Falcons from adding to their scoring total.

This ended with a Falcons victory over the Cougars with a score of 3-0.
