CHICAGO, ILL. – In their first meet of 2023, the Concordia University Chicago track and field team took to the Phoenix Invitational at the University of Chicago where multiple Cougars hit personal records.
Cougars With New Personal Records
- In his first performance in the maroon and gold, freshman Logan Glancy (Princeton, Ill.) secured two personal records as he picked up a 25.02 time in the 200m and a 7.22 time in the 60m preliminaries. Glancy also secured a fifth place finish in the 60m finals.
- Sophomore Adrian Mendez (Plano, Ill.) earned his PR in the 800m with a time of 2:12.97 – beating his previous record by nearly five seconds.
- Freshman William Leonard (Oskaloosa, Iowa) picked up a PR in the 800m as well with a time of 2:23.41.
Other Notable Cougars
- Mauricio Xochitecatl (Carol Stream, IL) had the fastest finish for the Cougars in the mile with a time of 4:49.54.
- Leonard followed behind for the Cougars with a time of 5:10.98 while Callum Hardwicke (Lake St. Louis, Mo.) finished next for the Cougars with a time of 5:17.14.
- Freshman Austin Knight (Forest Park, Ill.) had the fastest finish in the 200m for the Cougars with a time of 24.46.
