SEWARD, NEB. – To kick off day two of the 70
th Concordia Invitational Tournament, the Concordia University Chicago Cheer team took the floor as the first CUC team to compete on the day.
As the Cougars were the third Concordia squad to take the mat, they executed their routine well.
The Cougars finished in third place with a score of 64.5. This score saw a slight decrease from the previous CIT's performance in 2020, but with only one Cougar on this year's squad that has previously competed at CIT, the slate was wiped clean.
"These athletes have demonstrated what CUC is all about," Coach Cheetah said. "They persevered and overcame adversity over the past weeks and came out with an amazing first competition performance! Our baskets were executed with strong technique and our team tumbling strength was clearly highlighted with top scores in the competition! We are so excited to continue our spring season journey!"
The Cheer team will be back in action on February 18
th when they host the Cougar Collegiate Dance and Cheer Invite. Coverage for this competition and all things Cougar Cheer can be found at cucougars.com/coverage.
